Brooklyn Special Events FAQ's

Q: In which parks can you barbecue in Brooklyn?
A: Designated areas of Prospect Park, Manhattan Beach Park and Kaiser Park.

Q: Which parks have a bandshell?
A: Asser Levy Park, Prospect Park and Von King Park have an amphitheaters.

Q: Where can I obtain a permit application?
A: Applications may be obtained at Litchfield Villa at 95 Prospect Park West. The office is open Monday through Friday. If you wish, you may call (718) 965-8912 and request that an application be mailed to you. (The application is also available through the website.)

Q: I would like to have my wedding photographs taken in a park. Can you recommend a site?
A: Two frequently requested sites are the Brooklyn Heights Promenade which has the New York skyline as a backdrop and John Paul Jones Park in Bay Ridge. For more information on getting married in the parks, visit our Weddings in the Parks page.

Q: I am interested in renting the Prospect Park Picnic Houses.
