Job Assistance Centers

Our computer labs also host the Job Assistance Center (JAC) program, a job training and placement program for Public Assistance recipients who are participating in Parks' Work Experience Program. The JAC program helps public assistance recipients in their job search by serving as a bridge between job seekers and interested employers throughout the City.

In addition, the JAC staff uses a curriculum based on the most successful practices of nationally recognized job training programs, providing additional training in customer service, retail, computer and other skills. By marketing our most experienced and qualified participants to businesses in all five boroughs, JAC not only facilitates our participants' goal of securing meaningful employment, but also provides a valuable service to our City's business community.
