Stone Mountain

Since 2001, a group of POP participants are honored for their achievements at a luncheon co-sponsored by Stone Mountain and the City of New York/Parks & Recreation.

Styleworks

Styleworks

Styleworks provides program participants with a professional and complete makeover, along with a complimentary assortment of cosmetic items. Founder Malaak Compton-Rock works closely with hair and beauty salons throughout New York City that volunteer their time, services and products to POP participants.

Community Voicemail

Through our partnership with the Coalition for the Homeless, the POP program is able to provide those participants who do not have a phone with voice mail service.

Dress for Success & Career Gear

POP is an active member organization of both Dress For Success and Career Gear. These programs provide interview-appropriate clothing to women and men on public assistance.

StreetwisePartners inc.

Price Waterhouse Coopers and corporate volunteers developed StreetwisePartners, Inc. to help public assistance recipients and low-income community members receive free computer and job readiness instruction 12 Saturdays per cycle. Each participant is matched with two mentors from the corporate community.

Employment Offices

POP offices are located throughout the five boroughs. All of the offices are equipped with state of the art resources and staffed with a team of dedicated professionals who will serve as your company's point of contact.

The Customer Service Academy

The Customer Service Academy is the newest addition to the POP program. The academy trains participants on how to properly handle money, operate an electronic cash register and improve customer service skills.

The Clerical Academy

An in-house training program created to help participants in becoming comfortable with the computer skills necessary in many employment fields. The goal is to provide proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Board of Education ESL & GED

Through a partnership with the Board of Education, POP has been able to provide participants with free and convenient GED and ESL classes.
