Swim Instructors and Instructor Aides
Parks & Recreation seeks Recreation Specialists ($16.78/hour) to organize and instruct children in our Learn to Swim Programs this fall at pools in all 5 boroughs. Three years Recreation experience, including one year of aquatics experience or equivalent education or experience required. ARC WSI or equivalent certification and ARC CPR or equivalent mandatory. EOE.
We also seek Instructor Aides ($10.06 or $12.53/hour, depending on experience) to assist swimming instructors to teach children to swim.

GreenApple Corps
We are looking for candidates interested in improving the city's natural environment who want to make a one-year commitment to the GreenApple Corps, a federally-funded program through an AmeriCorps grant.

- Provide social work services – specifically group work -- to children ages 6-13 in after school sites from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
- Facilitate social work groups with children focused on psycho education, support, and prevention
- Provide special attention to children’s developmental, emotional, and social needs
- Observe and assess children in after school setting and provide referrals for specialized services to families
- Assist in needs assessment and program development
- Collaborate with Parks center staff to create an optimal after school experience for children
Requirements:
- Master’s of Social Work from an accredited school of social work
- Experience working with children a must, preferably in an after school setting
- Energy and creativity
- Knowledge of NYC and willingness to travel a plus
