Urban Forestry

GreenApple Corps works to improve the health of our urban forest, which includes the 592,130 and growing street trees in New York City—those trees growing between the sidewalk and curb—as well as the millions of trees in Parks. Working with school and community groups, GreenApple members cultivate, mulch, prune and water street trees in high–need neighborhoods as part of the city's Trees for Public Health (TPH) initiative, as well as other neighborhoods with low street–tree density. We also implement Urban Forest Management Plans and Community Forest Management Plans.
