Girl operating computer at Computer Resource CenterWe have undergone efforts to make our website work well with assistive technology used by those with visual, auditory, and mobility impairments, such as providing alternative text for visual and audio content, including means to skip directly to the main content area for those with mobility impairments or for people using screen readers, and adding user settings to enhance accessibility. We are in the process of ensuring that all content on our website complies with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. If you experience any difficulty accessing the information on our website, please contact us.

Font Size and Contrast

For users with visual impairments, we offer the choice of three different styles of presentation for the website. Please note that there is absolutely no difference in the content, it is simply being presented differently. By clicking on one of the following buttons, you will be setting your preference for the entire website. If you change your mind you can always click on the accessibility bar at the top of any page to navigate to a page where you can change your selection.

If the Standard Display is not readable enough, the Large Type Display offers larger type while retaining a very similar presentation. The High Contrast Display features the highest level of readability, with light text on a dark background, larger text, a single-column layout, and the ability to manually change font size through browser controls in all major browsers. (Go to the View menu, then click on Text Size.)

AccessKeys

Accesskeys allow users to quickly jump to a section of the website or the current page by pressing a combination of keys on the keyboard. This can be of great assistance to those with limited mobility and to users of assistive technology such as screen readers. By default, accesskeys on this site are switched off, but if you would like to set an accesskey for any of the page elements listed below, simply check off which keys you wish to assign, enter the keys of your choice in the corresponding boxes, and save this preference. To then use the access key, check the chart below to see which combination of keys works for your browser and platform.

PDF Documents

In many sections on this site, we offer downloads of documents in the PDF format. While most screen readers in common use can read PDFs, Adobe also has online tools that will convert PDF files to HTML on request. More information about Adobe's accessibility tools and services are available at Adobe's Accessibility Resource Center.
